The owner of Jezco Oil and Jezco Group, Sir Joseph Ezeokafor, has reportedly been kidnapped in Anambra State.
Ezeokafor, a billionaire businessman and father of Nigerian Instagram personality Jowizaza, was allegedly abducted last week while praying on a mountain in Awka.
The allegation was disclosed by lawyer Chukwudi Iwuchukwu in a Facebook post on Sunday.
According to Iwuchukwu, Ezeokafor had reportedly gone to the mountain alone to pray without his usual security personnel and police escorts.
He alleged that unidentified gunmen abducted the businessman during the prayer session and took him to an undisclosed location.
The reported incident has caused concern in Ekwulobia, the businessman’s hometown, with residents reportedly thrown into confusion and mourning following news of the alleged abduction.
Iwuchukwu described Ezeokafor as one of the wealthiest and most influential indigenes of the community.
He also claimed that the reported kidnapping led the community to postpone its annual New Yam Festival.

According to him, the festival, which had reportedly never been postponed before, was put on hold because community members felt it would be inappropriate to celebrate while the family of their prominent indigene was dealing with the alleged abduction.
The lawyer said the development had heightened concerns among residents over the businessman’s safety and whereabouts.
As of the time of the report, there was no official confirmation from the Anambra State Police Command regarding the alleged kidnapping or Ezeokafor’s current whereabouts.
