The Nigeria Police Force has arrested and detained a police officer accused of extorting ₦10,000 from a motorist in the Idimu area of Lagos State, following a viral video that sparked public outrage.
The incident reportedly occurred after the driver was stopped by the officer despite presenting valid vehicle documents. The motorist alleged that the officer questioned the colour of the vehicle, insisting it was “grey” instead of “ash” as stated in the registration papers.
