
Three officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have lost their lives following an attack by suspected bandits along the Tsamiya–Illo Road in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
According to security sources, the incident occurred while the officers were carrying out official duties on the road. The gunmen reportedly launched a sudden attack, forcing the officers to attempt an escape.
However, the assailants, who were said to be riding motorcycles, pursued the officers and opened fire on them. All three officers were killed during the attack.
The deceased officers were identified as Deputy Chief Road Marshal Assistant Umar Aliyu, Senior Road Marshal Assistant Ezra Manu Gona, and Road Marshal Assistant I Mansur Ibrahim Nasir.

The attack has reportedly heightened concerns among residents and security personnel operating within the area. Authorities have advised officers and other personnel working along the axis to remain vigilant while further security assessments are carried out.
Security operatives are currently investigating the incident to determine the motive behind the attack and identify those responsible. Surveillance and other precautionary measures have also been intensified in an effort to prevent additional attacks and reassure communities in the area.
The latest incident underscores the ongoing security challenges facing parts of Kebbi State and other communities affected by bandit activities across northern Nigeria.
