Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have successfully rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, along with her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, following a tactical operation in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The rescue operation, which took place at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, came three days after the victims were abducted while on their way to school.
According to security sources, the operation led to a fierce exchange of gunfire between police operatives and the suspected kidnappers.
Two members of the criminal gang were neutralized during the confrontation, while security personnel recovered two firearms from the scene.
The success of the mission was attributed to sustained intelligence gathering, strategic tracking of the kidnappers, and coordinated efforts by security agencies.
Mounting pressure from operatives reportedly forced the suspects into a gun battle, ultimately leading to the safe rescue of the victims without injury.
