Nigerian Army troops have recorded significant successes in ongoing counter-terrorism and anti-criminal operations across the country, rescuing 34 kidnapped victims, apprehending suspected ISWAP informants, and recovering a cache of arms and ammunition.
According to an operational report released on Sunday, the achievements were made within a 24-hour period through coordinated military offensives in multiple regions.
In the North-East, troops under Operation HADIN KAI rescued 31 kidnap victims along the Buratai–Kamuya road in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State. The operation followed intelligence gathered through CCTV surveillance, which detected ISWAP/JAS terrorists abducting civilians from four vehicles.
A swift deployment of troops from the 135 Special Forces Battalion led to a fierce engagement, forcing the terrorists to flee and abandon the victims.
One motorcycle used by the insurgents was recovered at the scene.
Similarly, troops of the 145 Battalion carried out a fighting patrol in the Turoh area of Damasak, Mobbar Local Government Area.
The terrorists reportedly fled upon sighting the troops, leaving behind two motorcycles and illicit substances recovered during the operation.
In Adamawa State, troops of the 232 Battalion successfully apprehended a suspected ISWAP informant at Garaha Market in Hong Local Government Area, further disrupting the group’s intelligence network.

Meanwhile, in the North-West, troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA engaged armed terrorists transporting rustled cattle in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The criminals were overpowered by superior firepower and fled in disarray.
In Kogi State, troops of Operation MESA rescued a kidnapped woman and her two children along the old Obajana–Jakura–Tajimi road in Lokoja Local Government Area. Preliminary findings revealed the victims were abducted on July 29 from a Ruga settlement in the Gada-Biyu area.
Elsewhere, troops of Operation Enduring Peace responded to an attack in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. Although the attackers had fled before their arrival, the deceased victim and recovered livestock were handed over to the family.
In the South-East, Operation UDO KA recorded a major breakthrough with the arrest of three suspected terrorists linked to the ambush of troops in Imo State on May 4. The arrests, carried out in Delta and Imo States, were based on actionable intelligence from earlier apprehended suspects.
During the operations, troops recovered four AK-47 rifles, one FN rifle, a pistol, multiple magazines, and 239 rounds of assorted ammunition, alongside other military-grade items.
Some of the recovered weapons were identified as those previously stolen during the May ambush.
Military authorities noted that continued exploitation of terrorist hideouts also led to the discovery of additional camps stocked with arms and ammunition, signaling ongoing efforts to dismantle insurgent networks nationwide.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist groups and ensuring the safety of citizens across all regions.
