The explosion occurred on June 8, 2026, when a commercial Golf 3 Wagon carrying passengers from Bagega to Anka ran over the device. Security sources said the IED was allegedly planted by suspected bandits operating in the area.

The joint teams assessed the situation, secured the area, cleared the road, and restored normal movement along the route.
