Armed men have again abducted a resident of the Paze community in the Kubwa axis of Bwari Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, weeks after he was previously released following the payment of a ₦7 million ransom.
The victim, identified as Emmanuel Oluwale, was reportedly kidnapped during a midnight attack on Sunday, May 31, 2026, sparking renewed fear among residents of the area.
Community sources said the attackers invaded the neighbourhood around 11pm, broke into the victim’s home by forcing open a window, and fired shots as they dragged him out of the house before escaping through nearby forest routes linking Abuja to surrounding states.
Residents say this is the second time Oluwale has been targeted in less than a month, raising concerns that kidnapping gangs operating around the outskirts of Abuja may be tracking previously ransomed victims for repeat attacks.
A local source described the situation as alarming, noting that the community feels increasingly unsafe due to repeated incursions by armed groups.

Following the incident, local youths and vigilantes launched a search operation along suspected escape routes. Their efforts reportedly led to the arrest of one suspect believed to be linked to the kidnapping network or acting as an informant.
The suspect was handed over to police operatives at the Byazhin Police Station for interrogation.
As of the time of filing this report, the FCT Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the incident, and attempts to reach the police spokesperson were unsuccessful.
The Bwari axis, including communities such as Kubwa, Ushafa, and Mpape, has continued to face rising cases of kidnapping, with residents and security analysts warning that criminal groups are exploiting remote terrain and weak surveillance networks around the area.
