Fear and panic have gripped residents of Eda Oniyo in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State following a deadly attack by armed gunmen on a church gathering.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night during a programme at a Christ Apostolic Church located on the outskirts of the community.
According to local sources, the attackers stormed the venue around 8:30 p.m., opened fire, and killed the presiding pastor before abducting several worshippers.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the assailants arrived in large numbers and operated for several minutes without immediate resistance.
