Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has openly expressed his admiration for Arsenal ahead of their highly anticipated Premier League showdown, revealing that he enjoys watching the Gunners and even learns from their style of play.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s crucial clash at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola praised Mikel Arteta’s side for their unique approach and consistency this season, which has seen them emerge as strong title contenders.
“Yes, I enjoy watching them. I learn a lot in many things,” Guardiola said, as reported by BBC Sport.
Arsenal currently sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League table and are also chasing European glory, with a UEFA Champions League semi-final against Atlético Madrid on the horizon.
Despite facing criticism over their reliance on set-pieces responsible for 37 percent of their 62 league goals the North London side has maintained an impressive run. However, concerns remain about their recent struggles in open play, having scored just two goals from open play in their last five matches.

Guardiola, however, dismissed the criticisms, emphasizing that Arsenal’s mentality and consistency set them apart.
“They have something that makes them unique. I know that,” he added.
He further highlighted the psychological advantage that comes with ending long trophy droughts, drawing parallels with Manchester City’s own journey to dominance in recent years.
The title race has tightened following Arsenal’s recent defeat to Bournemouth, which allowed City to close the gap after securing a win over Chelsea.
