
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy and Colombian pop superstar Shakira have reunited as preparations intensify for the historic halftime show at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
The award-winning artistes were seen sharing a warm embrace and exchanging smiles during rehearsals at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where Spain and Argentina will face off in Sunday’s final.
Burna Boy shared a video and photos of the meeting on his social media page, expressing his excitement ahead of the performance. The pair appeared in high spirits as they prepared for what is expected to be one of the biggest entertainment events in World Cup history.

FIFA previously confirmed that Burna Boy and Shakira will headline the tournament’s first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show with a live performance of “Dai Dai,” the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The song was first unveiled during the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico City.
The halftime entertainment is expected to run for about 11 minutes, while the overall interval will be extended to approximately 30 minutes to accommodate the performance and television broadcast schedules.
Several other international stars are also expected to appear during the show, including BTS, Madonna, Justin Bieber, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus with Coldplay, as well as characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.
According to FIFA, the halftime spectacle will also promote global education initiatives aimed at improving learning opportunities for children around the world.
The entertainment show will serve as the curtain-raiser to the much-anticipated World Cup final between Spain and Argentina, marking another milestone in FIFA’s efforts to blend football with global entertainment.
