Four people have been arrested by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) over the alleged demolition of a classroom at Unguwa Uku Primary School in Tarauni Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects were arrested following a complaint from residents concerning the alleged destruction of the classroom.
The PCACC chairman, Malam Saidu Yahaya, said preliminary investigations indicated that the school’s head teacher allegedly worked with some members of the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) and the Education Secretary of Tarauni Local Government Area to demolish the classroom.
The suspects were also accused of selling iron rods and roofing materials recovered from the demolished structure without obtaining approval from the appropriate authorities.
Yahaya said the four suspects would be arraigned in court after the completion of investigations.

He urged members of the public to report attempts to vandalise, demolish or illegally dispose of public and community assets to the relevant authorities.
The commission said such reports would help ensure that public property is protected and those responsible for alleged misconduct are brought to account.
