Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, have arrested a 45-year-old man allegedly linked to a motorcycle theft syndicate operating in the state.
The suspect, identified as Mustafa Sani, was arrested at his residence in Gaida, Abacha Street, Kumbotso Local Government Area, following intelligence reportedly linking him to the activities of the syndicate.
According to the NSCDC, operatives recovered a motorcycle suspected to have been stolen from a hospital in the Rijiyar Zaki area along Gwarzo Road, Kano.
The operation also led to the recovery of 11 registered motorcycle number plates, six screwdrivers, three pliers and three bunches of motorcycle keys, which the corps said were suspected to be connected to stolen motorcycles.
The NSCDC Public Relations Officer in Kano State, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said the operation followed the tracking of a companion motorcycle with registration number GRR 958 QB (Jigawa) to the suspect’s residence.

Meanwhile, the alleged principal suspect in the syndicate, identified as Mansur Nasir Khalil, popularly known as “S-Guy,” remains at large.
The command said it had launched a manhunt for Khalil and was making efforts to apprehend him.
The Kano State NSCDC Commandant, Mohammed Agalama, commended the operatives for the intelligence-led operation and reiterated the command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks involved in motorcycle theft and other forms of crime across the state.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with credible information that could assist in preventing and detecting criminal activities.
The NSCDC further stated that the arrested suspect would undergo investigation and, if found culpable, be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
