Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have recovered two FN FAL assault rifles and live ammunition after raiding a suspected bandits’ hideout during an intelligence-led operation.
The operation followed ongoing investigations into the arrest of four suspects accused of supplying arms, ammunition and illicit substances to bandits.
Acting on information provided by one of the suspects, identified as Musbahu Ishaq, officers of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit traced the criminal network to a hideout in Dajin Madam Forest, located between Plateau and Bauchi states.

During a search of the camp, the operatives recovered the two assault rifles and live ammunition concealed within the forest.
Police investigations further revealed that the suspect allegedly obtained the weapons from one Rabiu Hassan before supplying them to Baba Alhaji Sanusi, a suspected bandit kingpin who is currently at large and believed to be hiding in a forest in Katsina State.
The Police Command said efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the criminal syndicate, recover more illegal weapons linked to the network and ensure that all suspects are brought to justice. It also reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining intelligence-led operations aimed at combating banditry and other violent crimes.
