Everton FC manager David Moyes has explained why his side settled for a dramatic 3-3 draw against Manchester City in their Premier League clash on Monday night.
Everton appeared to be in control of the game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, leading 3-1 in the 73rd minute. A brace from Thierno Barry and a goal from Jake O’Brien had put the Toffees in a strong position.
However, late goals from Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku ensured Manchester City fought back to earn a share of the points.
Speaking after the match, Moyes admitted his team failed to properly manage the game despite their advantage.

“We let ourselves down because we defended the second goal so poorly,” Moyes said. “We were hugely outplayed in the first half, but the players made a great effort to get us back into the game.”
He added that Everton should have done more to protect their lead late on.
“When we got to 3-1, we should be doing enough to see it out,” he said.
The result leaves Everton reflecting on missed opportunities, while Manchester City once again showed their resilience by salvaging a point from a difficult position.
