Arsenal remain determined in Premier League title chase after losing top position to Manchester City
Arsenal F.C. manager Mikel Arteta has insisted that the Gunners are still firmly in the race for the Premier League title, despite recently surrendering first place to Manchester City F.C. following a series of costly results.
Arsenal, who had built a strong lead earlier in the season, saw their advantage slip after defeats to Bournemouth and Manchester City.
City’s narrow 1-0 win over Burnley pushed them back to the summit, leaving both sides level on points but separated on goal difference.
With just a handful of matches left in the season, Arteta believes everything is still to play for, urging his squad to stay focused and fight until the end.

“Win tomorrow, game one win and then we’ll be much closer. I have belief in our players and our people and what we want to achieve,” Arteta said. “Five games to go. Tomorrow is game one, all in, let’s go for it.”
The Arsenal boss also highlighted the importance of maintaining belief despite recent setbacks, noting that the team is still competing on multiple fronts, including their European campaign in the UEFA Champions League, where they are set to face Atlético Madrid in the semi-final.
Arsenal will host Newcastle United F.C. in a crucial league fixture this weekend, a match that could see them temporarily reclaim the top spot depending on other results.
Boosted by the expected return of key players like Bukayo Saka and Riccardo Calafiori from injury, the Gunners are hoping to rediscover their winning form at a decisive stage of the season.
Manchester City, meanwhile, continue to apply pressure at the top as Pep Guardiola’s side hit strong form in the closing stretch of the campaign.
With both teams separated by fine margins, the title race remains wide open heading into the final weeks.
