
Two soldiers attached to the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have died following a tragic road accident in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The fatal incident occurred on May 30 along the 74 Road axis of the council area when a vehicle reportedly struck a motorcycle carrying the soldiers. Military personnel responded swiftly after receiving reports of the crash and evacuated the victims to the 63 Brigade Medical Centre for emergency treatment.

Despite efforts by medical personnel, both soldiers were confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Security operatives subsequently arrested the driver involved in the accident. Preliminary investigations reportedly revealed that the suspect tested positive for cannabis and cocaine during a drug screening exercise.
The suspect has since been transferred to the 63 Provost Company for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased soldiers have been deposited at the morgue of the Asaba Specialist Hospital pending burial arrangements and further directives from military authorities.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
