
Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have recovered a significant cache of suspected illicit drugs from an abandoned vehicle during a routine operation in the state.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the recovery was made after officers intercepted a Toyota Sienna for questioning.
However, the situation took a dramatic turn when the driver suddenly fled the scene.
Edafe disclosed that the suspect abandoned the vehicle and escaped into a nearby bush, evading immediate arrest despite efforts by police operatives to apprehend him.

A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a large quantity of substances believed to be illegal drugs. Items recovered include Codeine, Tramadol, Swinol, Man G, and Vega.
The police spokesperson confirmed that all recovered exhibits have been secured, while investigations are currently underway to identify and track down the fleeing suspect.
The Delta State Police Command reiterated its commitment to combating drug-related crimes and urged members of the public to provide useful information that could aid in the suspect’s arrest.
