
Suspected bandits have reportedly attacked a wedding convoy travelling from Katsina State to Kebbi State, abducting several passengers and causing panic among families of the victims.
The travellers were said to be on their way from Sheme in Katsina State to Kebbi State to escort a bride for a wedding ceremony when the attackers struck along the route.
The incident was made public by North-West security reporter Bakatsine, who shared the information on his X account. According to him, some members of the convoy were taken away by the gunmen during the attack.

He appealed to the public to pray for the safe return of those kidnapped, describing them as friends and relatives who had embarked on the journey for a joyful occasion before it turned tragic.
As of the time of the report, authorities had not confirmed the exact location of the attack or disclosed the number of people abducted.
Security agencies were yet to release an official statement on the incident, while the whereabouts and condition of the kidnapped victims remained unknown.
The attack has once again raised concerns over the growing insecurity on major highways in Nigeria’s North-West region, where travellers continue to face the threat of bandit attacks and kidnappings.
