
Suspected bandits have abducted Auwal Mas’ud Shitu, a 300-level student of Pure and Industrial Chemistry at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University in Katsina State.
The abduction reportedly occurred on Sunday, May 17, 2026, while the student was travelling from Charanchi to Dutsin-Ma.
According to sources, the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of ₦20 million for his release—an amount said to be beyond the financial capacity of the victim’s family.
