Suspected bandits have launched a late-night attack on Abudu Community in Apado Ward, Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting three residents, including a pregnant woman, after reportedly stealing about ₦4 million.
According to sources within the community, the incident occurred on Tuesday night when heavily armed assailants stormed the area, causing panic among residents.
The attackers were said to have initially intended to carry out a robbery operation.
During the invasion, the gunmen allegedly looted approximately ₦4 million from residents before abducting three individuals.
The victims were subsequently taken to an undisclosed location, and their whereabouts remain unknown as of the time of filing this report.

Confirming the incident, the Executive Chairman of Ilorin East Local Government Area, Hon. Lukman Olayinka, assured residents that security agencies are actively working to secure the safe release of the abducted victims.
In a statement, Olayinka expressed optimism that the victims would regain their freedom soon, noting that preliminary intelligence suggests the attackers were primarily motivated by robbery.
“The kidnappers came with the intention of stealing money. However, upon seeing the amount recovered, they assumed there was more and proceeded to abduct some residents.
By God’s grace, they will be apprehended, and the victims will be rescued,” he stated.
Security operatives have since intensified efforts in the area, while residents remain on edge following the incident.
Authorities have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities as investigations continue.
