
A notorious bandit commander identified as Samagi has reportedly been captured by the Katsina State Community Watch Corps.
Samagi was said to be a senior member of the bandit network allegedly led by a notorious kingpin, Kachalla Maha, in Katsina State.
He was reportedly apprehended alongside another suspected associate during an operation by the vigilantes. Samagi and his group have been linked to several attacks in the Matazu area of the state.

The network was also reportedly responsible for the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, a former Director of Defence Information.
The latest development came days after Katsina vigilantes reportedly arrested two suspected suppliers accused of providing ammunition to Kachalla Maha’s group.
Bandit attacks, including kidnappings and killings, have continued to affect communities across parts of the North-West region.
