The Katsina Community Watch Corps (C-Watch) has arrested two men suspected of supplying ammunition and running errands for a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Maha, in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The suspects, identified as Abubakar from Jaya and Ubale Change from Matazu, were reportedly arrested during security operations and questioned over their alleged involvement in the movement and supply of ammunition.
During an interrogation Abubakar allegedly admitted collecting ammunition on the instructions of a man identified as Lawal, also known as Yahaya. He said he collected the ammunition from Ubale Change twice at Ubale’s residence before taking it to another location.
Ubale reportedly confirmed Abubakar’s account, admitting that he had handed ammunition to him on two occasions.

When questioned about the source of the ammunition, Ubale allegedly identified a man named Mustapha from Karefa, who he said worked as a pump operator. According to him, Mustapha supplied the ammunition to him before he passed it on to Abubakar.
Ubale also reportedly acknowledged benefiting from the alleged activity and stated that other individuals were involved or planning to become involved.
The arrests come amid continuing security concerns in parts of Katsina State, where communities have faced attacks, kidnappings and other criminal activities attributed to armed bandit groups.
The suspects’ alleged confessions remain allegations pending further investigation and any determination by the appropriate authorities or court.
