The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old man, Sani Dikko, for allegedly conspiring with two others to kidnap his grandfather and collect ₦3 million in ransom.
Dikko was arrested alongside Kabir Sani and Salisu Bello, both 22, during a police operation in the Marabar Shema area of Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area.
According to the police, Dikko allegedly confessed to taking part in the kidnapping of his grandfather, identified as Alhaji Lawal, who reportedly spent 16 days in captivity before his release after a ₦3 million ransom was paid.
The three suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue into their alleged activities and possible links to a wider criminal network.

In a separate operation, police officers also rescued two women abducted by bandits in Sha’iskawa Fulani Village, Kankia Local Government Area.
The victims, identified as 45-year-old Assubi Rabe and 27-year-old Rabi Isyaku, were reportedly abducted by about eight armed bandits in the early hours of September 14.
Police said officers responded to a distress call and engaged the attackers in a gun duel, forcing the bandits to flee into the surrounding bush. The two women were subsequently rescued unhurt.
The Katsina State Police Command said it would continue operations against kidnapping and banditry across the state while urging residents to provide timely information to security agencies.
