
A road crash involving a tipper truck, two cars and two tricycles has occurred on Girei Bridge in Adamawa State, leaving several people injured.
The incident was confirmed by the Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
According to the police, the five vehicles were involved in the crash on the bridge, causing disruption along the route.
Police officers and other emergency responders reportedly arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and evacuated the injured victims to a hospital for medical treatment.

The command, however, confirmed that no life was lost in the accident.
The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, expressed concern over road crashes and urged motorists to exercise caution while using bridges and major highways.
Hassan advised drivers to obey traffic regulations and avoid excessive speeding, noting that reckless driving could endanger motorists, passengers and other road users.
He also urged commuters and other road users to prioritise safety and remain vigilant while travelling.
The police command said motorists should exercise greater care, particularly around busy roads and bridges, to prevent avoidable accidents.
