A Kaduna-based woman and her three daughters who were abducted by suspected bandits have regained their freedom after spending 180 days in captivity.
The victims were kidnapped during a deadly attack on Ariyo community in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State over the Easter period. The assault reportedly left several residents dead, while others were taken away by the attackers.
Sources revealed that the bandits had initially demanded a ransom of ₦1 billion for the release of the victims.
Details of their ordeal indicate that the woman, who was pregnant at the time of her abduction, gave birth while in captivity under extremely harsh and life-threatening conditions. Unfortunately, the newborn did not survive.

Following their release, the woman and her daughters were forced to trek long distances through remote areas in search of safety. One of the children became critically ill during the journey and had to be carried as they struggled to move forward in their weakened state.
Despite the challenges, the family pressed on until they eventually reached a village in Kachia Local Government Area, where they were rescued by local residents.
They have since been moved to a safer location and are currently receiving medical attention to stabilise their condition before being reunited with authorities in Kaduna.
Meanwhile, several other victims abducted during the same attack are still believed to be in captivity, raising ongoing concerns over their safety as efforts continue to secure their release.
