
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued two people abducted by terrorists along the Anka–Gadan Manya Road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The victims were rescued after soldiers responded to an attack involving two travellers who were riding on a motorcycle.
Military authorities said the troops were conducting a routine patrol in the area when they spotted armed terrorists attacking the travellers.
The soldiers immediately moved towards the scene, forcing the attackers to flee into the surrounding area and abandon their victims.
The two abducted persons were subsequently rescued by the troops without suffering further harm.

Following the incident, security forces increased patrols and other operations in the area to restrict the movement of terrorists and other criminal elements.
The military said the intensified operations were also aimed at improving security along major roads and protecting residents and motorists from further attacks and abductions.
It added that the continued patrols were part of efforts under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt terrorist activities, protect communities and restore freedom of movement across affected parts of Zamfara State.
