The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Zamfara State has arrested nine suspects over the alleged vandalism and theft of roofing zinc from three classrooms at Tsageru Primary School in Tsafe Local Government Area.
The suspects, aged between 35 and 60, were reportedly arrested after the Education Secretary of Tsafe LGA raised an alarm over the incident.
According to the NSCDC, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly conspired to remove the roofing materials between September 5 and 8, intending to sell them to raise money for farmland levies.
The command estimated the damage to the three classrooms at ₦4.5 million.

The NSCDC also said the suspects admitted attempting to bribe two traditional rulers, but the officials rejected the offer and warned them against the act.
The nine suspects are expected to be arraigned before a competent court for prosecution.
The NSCDC reaffirmed its commitment to protecting public infrastructure and maintaining zero tolerance for criminality and economic sabotage.
