The Delta State Police Command has arrested two suspected drug dealers and recovered 132 sachets of tramadol during a stop-and-search operation in Asaba.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, operatives attached to Operation Delta Shield intercepted a Toyota Hiace bus along Nnebisi Road, Asaba, on August 13, 2026.
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 132 sachets of 100mg tramadol and the arrest of two suspects identified as Hillary Osondu, 54, and Abubakar Bello, 54.

The police said the suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue.
In a separate operation, officers attached to the ‘A’ Division in Warri recovered a stolen ash-coloured 2003 Toyota Corolla less than two hours after it was reported missing.
The vehicle, with registration number WW-579MD, was reportedly stolen from Awani Close in the Ajamugha area of Warri on August 13, 2026.
Following the report, detectives, in collaboration with the Dragon Patrol Team, launched a coordinated operation and successfully recovered the vehicle along Winners Church Road in Ughelli.
The police added that efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest those responsible for the theft.
The recent operations highlight the Delta State Police Command’s continued efforts to combat drug-related crimes and improve security across the state.
