The directive follows the circulation of disturbing videos on social media showing the brutal assault of a resident identified as Simon Mudi. The government strongly condemned the attack, emphasizing that such acts of lawlessness will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
In an official statement, the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, expressed deep concern over the incident, noting that the violence does not reflect the peaceful nature and values of Delta State.
He stated that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has mandated security agencies to launch a thorough investigation, identify all individuals involved, and ensure they are brought to justice.
