
A tragic incident has left residents of Umuimo community in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State in shock, following the discovery of five members of a single family dead inside their residence.
The victims, identified as Mr. Kachi Nnabugwu, his wife Chinaza, and their three young children, were reportedly found lifeless in their home after neighbors raised concerns over their sudden disappearance.
According to sources within the community, the family had not been seen since Sunday, prompting worried neighbors and relatives to visit their residence. After several unanswered knocks, the door was forced open, revealing the decomposing bodies of all five family members.

Items recovered from the scene included leftover food and a generator set, raising questions about the possible cause of the deaths.
Security operatives were immediately alerted, and the Abia State Police Command has since launched a full investigation into the incident. The bodies have been evacuated and deposited in a morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, stated that the case was reported to the Osisioma Divisional Headquarters by a relative of the deceased after failed attempts to reach them.
She added that officers visited the scene, conducted an initial assessment, and documented evidence as part of ongoing investigations.
Meanwhile, residents of the community have called on authorities to carry out a thorough probe to determine the exact cause of the deaths and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
