Women in the Gero community of Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State, staged a protest on Monday after the bodies of two unidentified women were discovered behind the local government secretariat.
The protesters blocked a section of the expressway, causing heavy traffic before security personnel intervened and restored normal movement.
Residents said the bodies were found early Monday morning, drawing crowds to the scene and sparking outrage within the community. Many demanded a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
A resident, Mary Loknan, confirmed the incident, saying the bodies of the two women were discovered behind the Jos South Local Government headquarters.

Another resident said the women in the community took to the streets to demand justice and called on the government and security agencies to uncover what happened to the victims.
A commercial driver, Ibrahim Sule, said traffic was disrupted for more than an hour before soldiers and police officers arrived to clear the road and restore order.
Security operatives later appealed to residents to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and cooperate with investigators as inquiries into the incident continue.
Authorities also urged motorists to follow the directives of security personnel while maintaining peace in the area.
As of the time of filing this report, the identities of the two deceased women and the cause of their deaths had not been officially confirmed.
Residents have called on the Plateau State Government and security agencies to ensure a thorough investigation and bring anyone responsible for the deaths to justice.
