Troops of Sector 1 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), working in collaboration with local hunters, have rescued a kidnapped victim during a security operation along the Benue–Nasarawa border.
The rescue was carried out by soldiers deployed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Torkula during an operation aimed at flushing out criminal elements operating within the border communities.
According to the Nigerian Army, the victim was found in Ornan, a community located along the Benue–Nasarawa border, after security personnel intensified pressure on suspected kidnappers believed to be active in the area.

Following the successful rescue, the victim was immediately taken to a medical facility for medical assessment and treatment. Authorities did not disclose the identity of the rescued individual or provide details about any arrests made during the operation.
The Army said troops have continued to strengthen security patrols and clearance operations across vulnerable communities along the Benue–Nasarawa border to deny criminal groups freedom of movement and improve the safety of residents.
Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to working with local communities and other security stakeholders to tackle kidnapping and other security threats, urging residents to continue providing timely information that will support ongoing operations.
