Members of the Take-It-Back Movement on Monday staged a protest in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, over the worsening insecurity in Oyo State and the continued captivity of abducted pupils and teachers.
The protesters gathered at the Mokola Roundabout, one of the busiest junctions in the city, where they demanded urgent government intervention to secure the release of victims kidnapped in recent attacks in Oriire Local Government Area.
They also called on security agencies to intensify efforts to address the rising wave of kidnappings across communities in the state, warning that residents are increasingly living in fear.
Carrying placards with various inscriptions, the demonstrators expressed frustration over what they described as persistent insecurity affecting farmers, traders, students, and other residents.
Some of the placards read messages such as calls for safer communities, stronger government action against kidnapping, and improved protection for citizens.

One of the protesters, speaking during the demonstration, said Nigerians were becoming increasingly frustrated with the security situation, stressing that the public “is not at peace” due to repeated attacks and abductions.
The protest comes amid growing concern over the kidnapping of pupils, students, and teachers during attacks on schools in Ahoro-Esiele community in Oriire Local Government Area.
The victims were reportedly taken during armed incursions that have triggered widespread fear among residents and parents.
Family members of the abducted victims have continued to appeal to the Oyo State Government and security agencies to intensify rescue efforts and ensure the safe return of their loved ones.
The demonstration adds to mounting pressure on authorities to address insecurity and prevent further attacks in affected communities across the state.
