The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a former commercial motorcycle rider in Lagos State after he allegedly excreted 100 wraps of methamphetamine he swallowed in an attempt to smuggle the illicit drug into Nigeria.
The suspect was apprehended by NDLEA operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, shortly after arriving from Uganda, following intelligence-led surveillance.

Investigations revealed that he had ingested the drug consignments before boarding his flight to Nigeria. After his arrest, he was placed under observation, where he excreted all 100 wraps of methamphetamine concealed in his body.
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi said the suspect, who reportedly worked as an okada rider in Lagos for about 15 years, allegedly joined a transnational drug trafficking syndicate in a bid to improve his financial situation. However, the agency said his attempt to make quick money through drug smuggling ended with his arrest.
The NDLEA reiterated its commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and warned that anyone involved in the illegal trade would continue to face the full weight of the law.
