
The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man, Adam Tama, for allegedly attacking his 19-year-old cousin before making away with her mobile phones, cash and other valuables in Katsina State.
According to the police, the incident occurred on June 22 and was reported at the Sabon Gari Police Division shortly afterward.
Police said the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim, Fatima Lawal, causing serious injuries before tying her up and abandoning her inside a bathroom. He allegedly fled with an iPhone 13 Pro Max, a Samsung A05 smartphone, a power bank and ₦18,500 in cash.

The victim was rescued and rushed to a hospital, where she received treatment and was later discharged.
Following a swift investigation, detectives tracked down and arrested the suspect. Officers reportedly recovered the stolen iPhone 13 Pro Max, two blood-stained knives believed to have been used during the attack, a piece of firewood, and other items allegedly bought with part of the stolen money.
Police said the suspect confessed during interrogation and will be charged to court after investigations are completed.
The Commissioner of Police in Katsina State commended residents for promptly reporting the incident and praised officers for their quick response, assuring the public of the command’s continued commitment to protecting lives and property.
