
Two police officers attached to the Imo State Police Command have died following a road accident involving seven officers along the Amakalu–Umuelemma Road in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
The crash occurred on June 29 while the officers were carrying out official duties. According to the command, all seven personnel sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Henry Okoye, said two of the officers later died from their injuries despite medical efforts, while the remaining five are receiving treatment.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Audu Garba Bosso, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the deceased officers as dedicated personnel who made sacrifices in the line of duty.
He extended condolences to their families, friends, and colleagues and assured the injured officers and their families of the command’s continued medical and welfare support.
The police commissioner also directed that every necessary assistance be provided to aid the recovery of the surviving officers.
Meanwhile, the Imo State Police Command has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal road crash.
The identities of the deceased officers and the injured personnel have not yet been disclosed by the command.
