
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested three men in connection with a murder and armed robbery case in Gwaram Town, Alkaleri Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson SP Nafiu Habib said the arrests followed an investigation into a report filed at the Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters on March 7, 2026.
The first suspect, 25-year-old Muhammad Umar, alias “Jijji,” was apprehended on June 19, 2026, while in possession of a motorcycle belonging to the deceased victim. During interrogation, he allegedly confessed to the crime and named two accomplices.

Acting on his statement, detectives arrested Usman M. Gidado, 45, and Danladi Yakubu, alias “Pagaj,” 35. All three suspects are residents of Gwaram Town, where the offence occurred.
Officers recovered the victim’s motorcycle as an exhibit. The suspects and the recovered item have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi for further investigation. They will be charged to court on completion of the probe.
Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu commended the operatives for their professionalism and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling violent crime and securing justice for victims.
