
A commercial bus driver died on Tuesday after a multiple-vehicle accident at Cele inward Oshodi in Lagos State.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, confirmed the incident in a statement signed by its Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Adebayo Taofiq.
The crash involved a commercial mini bus popularly called “Korokpe” and a Toyota Tundra pickup with registration number EPE 554 YC.
Preliminary findings from security operatives at the scene showed that the bus driver sustained severe injuries from the impact and died instantly.
LASTMA officials on routine patrol along the corridor moved quickly to manage the situation. They coordinated emergency response, controlled traffic, and prevented further obstruction on the busy route.

The agency worked with officers of the Nigeria Police Force from the Cele-Ijesha Division to recover the body of the deceased driver. His remains were later released to family members in the area.
Damaged vehicles were promptly evacuated from the road to restore traffic flow and ensure public safety. Both vehicles were handed over to the police for a detailed investigation into the immediate and remote causes of the crash, as well as possible legal liability.
Despite the disruption, traffic movement along the corridor was restored following swift intervention by LASTMA personnel.
Reacting to the incident, LASTMA General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki sympathised with the family of the deceased.
He urged motorists, especially commercial drivers, to drive responsibly and obey traffic regulations at all times.
