
A 9-year-old boy, identified as Olaosebikan Victor, has been abducted by suspected gunmen during a violent midnight raid on Ugbosi Quarters in Idogun, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The attack, which occurred around 1:30 a.m., threw the community into panic as armed assailants stormed the area, firing sporadically to scare residents before carrying out the abduction.
According to eyewitness accounts, the gunmen forced their way into the home of Olaosebikan Isaac, the victim’s father.
In a desperate attempt to escape the attack, Isaac reportedly fled into a nearby bush, unknowingly leaving his son behind, who was then taken by the attackers.
Another resident, Joel Owalekan, also had his property vandalized during the invasion, though he managed to escape unharmed.
Following distress calls from residents, security operatives, including officers of the Nigerian Police Force and local security network Amotekun Corps, launched a coordinated search-and-rescue operation.

Tactical teams were deployed to comb surrounding forests and suspected escape routes in an effort to rescue the abducted child.
The spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command confirmed that investigations have commenced, adding that exhibits were recovered from the scene to aid the probe.
Authorities assured that all available security resources have been mobilized to ensure the safe rescue of the victim and the arrest of the perpetrators.
Security agencies have urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and to provide useful information that could assist ongoing operations.
The incident adds to growing concerns over rising cases of rural insecurity and kidnappings across parts of Nigeria, particularly in the South-West region.
