The Nigerian Army says its troops have neutralised two terrorists, rescued kidnapped victims, and foiled an attempt to detonate a crude oil pipeline in separate coordinated operations carried out across Taraba, Kogi, and Rivers States.
The operations were conducted within the last 24 hours as part of ongoing efforts to tackle terrorism, kidnapping, and economic sabotage in different parts of the country.
In Taraba State, troops of the 93 Battalion, deployed at Akate in Donga Local Government Area, engaged suspected terrorists in a forested area. Two of the suspects were killed during the encounter.
Items recovered from the scene included an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, magazines, mobile phones, and other personal belongings.
In Kogi State, troops of the 21 Battalion, working alongside local vigilantes, rescued four kidnapped passengers along the Anyigba–Itobe road in Ofu Local Government Area.

The victims were reportedly abandoned by their abductors while attempting to cross a seasonal stream due to sustained pressure from advancing troops. The Army added that efforts are ongoing to rescue other victims still in captivity.
Also in Kogi, troops of the 12 Brigade repelled an ambush along the Kabba–Okene road while withdrawing from an earlier operation. The attackers were forced to flee with possible gunshot injuries.
In Rivers State, troops of the 5 Battalion, acting on credible intelligence, foiled an attempt by suspected oil pipeline vandals to detonate a crude oil facility in Ahoada West Local Government Area.
The swift intervention of the soldiers disrupted the plan before it could be executed, forcing the suspects to escape.
The Nigerian Army stated that ongoing operations across affected regions are part of sustained efforts to dismantle criminal networks, rescue abducted persons, and protect critical national infrastructure.
