Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez has declared Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane as the best striker in world football right now, placing him above Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Argentine forward said Kane edges Haaland due to his all-round game. Martinez highlighted the England captain’s ball control, link-up play, reading of the game, and aerial ability as the qualities that set him apart.
“Harry Kane,” Martinez said when asked to name the best striker in the world. “I put him ahead of Haaland for the way he controls the ball, links up and reads the game, and also his headers. He’s a phenomenon.”

Kane has enjoyed a prolific season in Germany, scoring 58 goals across all competitions for Bayern Munich. His goals helped Vincent Kompany’s side secure the Bundesliga title, and he now has a chance to add the DFB-Pokal when Bayern face Stuttgart in Saturday’s final.
The 31-year-old England skipper continues to draw praise for combining clinical finishing with playmaking, a blend that Martinez believes puts him at the top of the striker rankings in 2026.
