
A 75-year-old man was rescued after falling into a deep well while attempting to retrieve a bucket in Oyo State.
The incident occurred at Igbo Ologun along Irawo Road in Atisbo Local Government Area on Monday evening.
According to the chairman of the state Fire Services Agency and Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Fire Service Reform, Moroof Akinwande, emergency responders received a distress call around 6:26 pm.
A rescue team led by CFS Ayegbokiki Samuel was immediately deployed to the scene. Firefighters used rescue equipment to safely pull the elderly man out of the well alive.

Following the successful operation, the victim was handed over to police officers from the Saki Divisional Headquarters led by ASP Yusuf Olarinoye.
Akinwande urged residents to properly cover wells when they are not in use and to quickly contact emergency services during emergencies while providing accurate directions to the location.
