Peter and Paul Popularly Known As P Square
Nigerian singer and songwriter, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has announced a surprising change to his birthday celebration date, signaling a deeper shift in his personal life and ongoing family tensions.
In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, the music star declared that he will no longer celebrate his birthday on November 18 a date he has shared since birth with his twin brother, Paul Okoye.
“I’m making it official. November 18th is no longer my birthday celebration date. Please note that I will not be accepting any messages or gifts on that day,” he wrote.

Peter further revealed that his new birthday celebration date will now be November 30, describing the decision as personal and asking fans for their understanding and continued support.
The announcement has sparked reactions among fans, many of whom see the move as symbolic of the growing distance between the former P-Square duo.
Peter and Paul Okoye, once celebrated globally as the iconic music group P-Square, have had a long history of public disagreements centered on management issues, financial disputes, and accusations of betrayal involving their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
Although the duo reunited in 2021 after years of separation, tensions resurfaced shortly after. Peter accused Paul and Jude of marginalization and financial misconduct, while Paul alleged that Peter reported them to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The situation escalated further in June 2025 when Peter publicly declared that he had completely severed ties with his brothers.
With this latest development, it appears the rift remains unresolved, as Peter continues to redefine both his personal and professional identity away from his family ties.
