Operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have rescued two persons trapped in the wreckage of a truck collision along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.
The crash, which occurred late at night, involved two trucks that reportedly collided due to excessive speed and loss of control. According to the FRSC, seven adult males were involved in the accident, with five sustaining varying degrees of injuries.
The two victims who were trapped in the mangled trucks were successfully extricated after an overnight rescue operation and rushed to a nearby hospital in Ogere for medical attention.
FRSC spokesperson in Ogun State, Superintendent Route Commander Odunsi Afolabi, said recovery efforts were still ongoing as the vehicles remained locked together, requiring heavy-duty equipment to separate them.

The incident caused major traffic disruption, particularly on the Ibadan-bound lane of the expressway, which was temporarily closed to allow rescue and clearance operations. Motorists heading towards Lagos were diverted at Alapako Bridge to ease congestion.
Officials also created an emergency corridor to manage the traffic situation while urging drivers to remain calm and comply with directives.
The Ogun Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, advised road users to consider alternative routes and assured that normal traffic flow would be restored once the scene is fully cleared.
