Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully identified and neutralised an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Gajiram town along the Maiduguri axis of Borno State.
The development was revealed in a post shared on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Monday.
According to the report, the explosive device was discovered at about 9:09 p.m. on April 21 near the exit gate of Gajiram by an Explosive Ordnance Disposal/Route Clearance (EOD/RD) team attached to the Forward Operating Base in the area.
The device was detected during a routine security sweep, prompting the team to immediately secure the location to prevent harm to civilians and military personnel.

Troops subsequently carried out a controlled detonation of the IED, ensuring that no casualties or property damage were recorded.
Following the operation, security forces conducted further clearance and surveillance across the surrounding environment to eliminate any additional threats.
Military sources noted that while the situation in Gajiram remains calm, it is still unpredictable. As a result, patrols and monitoring have been intensified along critical routes.
The swift response highlights the continued vigilance and operational readiness of troops in countering explosive threats posed by insurgent groups in the region.
