
At least 11 persons have been confirmed dead, while 12 others sustained varying degrees of injuries following a tragic road accident in Kebbi State.
The fatal incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on April 27 along the Dakingari–Kamba road, at a location identified as Bakin Dutse.
According to security sources, the crash involved a Mitsubishi Canter vehicle driven by one Sanusi Aliyu, a resident of Kamba, and a trailer whose registration details and driver remain unknown.
The Canter vehicle was reportedly transporting goods and passengers from Aljannare market to Kamba when the driver attempted to avoid a pothole on the road. In the process, some passengers fell off the moving vehicle.

An oncoming trailer from the opposite direction allegedly ran over the victims after they fell, resulting in multiple fatalities at the scene.
One of the deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Nura Nuhu from Sokoto State, alongside 10 others who died instantly.
Meanwhile, the injured victims, including a 45-year-old identified as Aliyu Suleman, were rushed to the General Hospital in Kamba for urgent medical attention.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy, while authorities are yet to issue an official statement as investigations into the incident continue.
