
The Yobe State Police Command has arrested two men suspected of involvement in a burglary at the Red Bricks Housing Estate in Damaturu, the state capital.
The suspects, identified as 27-year-old Abubakar Abdullahi and 23-year-old Ayuba, were arrested on August 7 by operatives of the B Division, Damaturu.
The arrest followed a complaint lodged by a resident after household property was allegedly stolen from the estate.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the divisional police team commenced an intelligence-driven investigation following the report, which led to the arrest of the two suspects.
The police said the suspects were interrogated and subsequently confessed to the alleged offence.
Items recovered from them include a 50-inch Samsung Galaxy Smart TV, three sets of bedsheets and a large carpet.

The recovered items have been documented and secured in the police exhibit room, while the complainant has identified and confirmed ownership of the property.
The suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue to determine whether other individuals were involved in the alleged burglary.
The police command urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies to help prevent crime and protect lives and property.
