Operatives of the Yobe State Hisbah Board in Damaturu have foiled a planned “Color Festival” organized by some youths in the state capital, reinforcing their commitment to upholding moral standards and Islamic principles.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Media and Publicity Officer of the Damaturu Command, Y.M. Abba.
According to the statement, the operation was carried out on Saturday, August 1, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain societal discipline and prevent activities deemed inconsistent with Islamic teachings.
The Hisbah Command emphasized that its intervention aligns with its mandate to safeguard religious values and ensure peace within the community.
“We will continue to monitor and take appropriate measures to ensure peace, moral discipline, and the preservation of religious values in society,” the statement read.

The board also issued a strong warning to individuals and groups planning similar events, urging them to desist from organizing activities that contravene Islamic guidelines.
It further stressed that it would not hesitate to take legal action against anyone found promoting or supporting such gatherings.
The move highlights the agency’s increasing vigilance in regulating public events and reinforcing religious compliance across Yobe State.
