
The Yobe State Hisbah Commission has arrested six women suspected of engaging in commercial sex work in Gadaka, Fika Local Government Area of the state.
The arrests were made during a recent operation conducted by operatives of the commission’s Fika command in the Abuja area of Gadaka.
The Head of Administration of the commission in Fika LGA, Malam Musa Abari Talba, disclosed the development to journalists.
He explained that the operation also targeted bars suspected of selling and processing alcoholic drinks.
According to Talba, Hisbah officials used the exercise to sensitise residents about activities they consider contrary to religious and moral values.

He said the officials urged members of the community to avoid conduct they believe could undermine the moral standards of the area and to respect the law.
Talba added that the operation was part of the commission’s responsibilities to promote peace, discipline and good moral conduct among residents of Yobe State.
