Brazilian football legend Ronaldo Nazário has pointed fingers at head coach Carlo Ancelotti following Brazil’s disappointing exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The five-time world champions were knocked out in the Round of 16 after a 2-1 defeat to Norway, with Erling Haaland scoring twice to seal Brazil’s fate.
Reacting to the loss, Ronaldo criticized Ancelotti’s tactical decisions, insisting that the elimination was largely influenced by choices made from the bench.
“I think this elimination started with decisions made on the coaching bench,” Ronaldo said. “Ancelotti is one of the best coaches in football history, but tonight he made too many mistakes.”

The former striker also questioned the exclusion of João Pedro from the squad and expressed frustration over the limited playing time given to young talent Endrick.
“I still don’t understand why João Pedro was not in the squad — he’s been performing brilliantly. Look at Endrick; every time he’s played in this tournament, he’s brought energy,
aggression, and unpredictability, yet he spent most of the time on the bench. I can’t comprehend it,” he added.
Brazil’s early exit has sparked widespread reactions among fans and football analysts, with many questioning the team’s strategy and squad management throughout the tournament.
